AVOCADO FOR CHOLESTEROL CURE

Painless cholesterol cure works in just 7 days -- and drives
the "food police" crazy!

Want to lower your cholesterol so fast it'll make your head spin? It's a breeze, just eat guacamole -- or any dish containing avocados!

Most health experts and nutritionists will tell you this rich, delicious Mexican dish is BANNED from any cholesterol-watcher's menu. But not Dr. Steven Pratt. That's because new research shows eating avocados can lower your cholesterol even faster than drugs... without the side effects!
One study found after just 7 days on a diet including avocados, LDL ("bad") cholesterol and triglyceride levels dropped by 22 percent. Meanwhile, HDL ("good") cholesterol shot up 11 percent -- something most cholesterol-lowering drugs won't do!

HOT COCOA FOR HYPERTENSION

Harvard researchers praise stunningly simple discovery!

According to recent estimates, nearly 1-in-3 American adults has high blood pressure. But for the Kuna Indians living on a group of islands off the Caribbean coast of Panama , hypertension doesn't even exist. In fact, after age 60, the average blood pressure for Kuna Indian islanders is a perfect 110/70.

Is it because they eat less salt? No. Kuna Indians eat as much, if not more salt, than people in the U.S.
Is it due to their genes? No. Kuna Indians who move away from the islands are just as likely to suffer from high blood pressure as anyone else!
So what makes these folks practically "immune" to hypertension -- and lets them enjoy much lower death rates from heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and cancer?

Harvard researchers were stunned to discover it's because they drink about 5 cups of cocoa each day. That's right, cocoa!
Studies show the flavonols in cocoa stimulate your body's production of nitric oxide -- boosting blood flow to your heart, brain, and other organs. In fact, one study found cocoa thins your blood just as well as low-dose aspirin!
But that's not all. A Harvard Medical School professor claims cocoa can also treat blocked arteries, congestive heart failure, stroke, dementia, even impotence!

Give it a try to see how true...

KNOCK OUT AN ULCER WITH BROCCOLI

Good try.....
About 25 million Americans will suffer from a peptic ulcer at some point in their lives. To get rid of their ulcers, most will take an antibiotic like amoxicillin.
Pretty tame stuff , right? Wrong! Amoxicillin can bring with it unwanted side effects like fever, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, even a yucky condition called "hairy tongue"!
And if you think that's bad, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the cost of treating an ulcer with antibiotics over an average 17-day period can run upward of $1,000!

Fortunately, there's one unconventional treatment with NO side effects Dr. Pratt swears by. "Eat broccoli!" he says. Why?
Broccoli contains a remarkably potent compound called sulforaphane, that kills off the H. pylori bacteria that cause most ulcers. Not only can it knock out an ulcer, eating one serving a day for a month might run you 20 bucks... a fraction of the cost of drugs!

THE CINNAMON CURE FOR HIGH BLOOD SUGAR

Anyone or your family members and friends has high blood sugar can try this out.

Sprinkle a little cinnamon on your toast, cereal, oatmeal, or sliced apples. It not only tastes good, it lowers your blood sugar!
In a recent study, people reduced their blood sugar levels by as much as 29 percent in just 40 days. That's with NO drugs, NO diet changes -- just plain old cinnamon!
Sounds so simple. No harm trying.

SMOOTHIES - FOR GOOD HEALTH

I love smoothies. Its just so easy to prepare and taste good.
Here is an article I found about smoothies by Kevin Gianni - Health author.

The Top 7 Reasons Why Smoothies Can Help You Lose Weight, Boost Your Energy Levels and Create Vibrant Health

1. Smoothies deliver a power-packed, slam dunk of nutrients

Smoothies, pound for pound, are some of the most nutrient dense meals. A green smoothie with some fruit and berries can deliver more antioxidants and phytonutrients than most meals eaten by the majority of people around the world.
It's also easier to digest, since a good blender will break up the plant fibers for better absorption.

By preparing a smoothie every morning, you can start off your day with the protection of antioxidants, an incredible array of vitamins and nutrients, as well as get the energy and calories you need to go on with you day without getting hunger pangs an hour after your first meal.

2. Anyone can use a blender and make something that tastes awesome.
Yes, this is true. Even the most culinary-challenged individuals can dump smoothie ingredients into a blender and turn it on to make a great tasting smoothie. This applies to kids as well!

Kids and adults alike love the process of blending together their favorite ingredients for an awesome tasting concoction.

QUICK TIP: Adding bok choy or spinach into a fruit smoothie is a great way to sneak some greens into a child's diet!

3. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to create your own recipes.
This isn't like baking where everything needs to be just right.

Like I've already said, anyone can use a blender, but this tip means that you don't have to be overly creative in order to build your own smoothie.

For anyone just starting, usually I'll tell them get some of your favorite fruits and vegetables and start playing around. You'll be amazed at what you come up with.

4. They take literally minutes to prepare (sometimes less!)
The fastest smoothie I've ever made was about 45 seconds (Yes, I timed it!). This can do wonders for your time management!

Studies have shown that most people stress about money and not having enough time in the day. Smoothies can literally buy you 30 minutes or so in the morning--or whenever you choose to make one--so you can get to the things that really matter.

5. They taste amazing.
I may sound like a broken record here, but when done right a great smoothie can transport you to a tropical island or give you the mental clarity of Einstein-ian proportions.

6. They can help detoxify your system.
There are many non-organic and industrial pollutants in our environment that can be the cause of various aliments. So it's extremely important to detox your system to avoid build up of toxic materials.

Adding fruits and herbal tinctures or powders to your smoothies can help the body detox. This is a great way to take many tinctures or powders without having to taste them (some taste notoriously awful, if you ever get a chance try the herb andrographis and you'll know what I mean!).

Many fruits alone are detoxifying, so just making a fruit smoothie can have detoxifying effects on your body.

7. They are fun!
It's hard to think of a meal that is actually fun to make, fun to eat and fun to share. Smoothies happen to be one of those meals!

Every day you can pick new ingredients and try new mixes to create endless recipes and tastes. They're a perfect addition a meal plan that is stagnant and boring and that is not getting you any noticeable results.

With all these reasons and literally dozens more, it's easy to understand why smoothies will work for you.

EXCERCISE FOR FLABBY UNDERARMS

I put on a lot of weight lately (62kg now) due to the durain season. The fat I want to get rid off n find it very difficult is my flabby upper underarms and tummy. I was dicussing with Jin choo today about the excercises for burning the fats in these areas. My daughter used to joke at me not to wave to friends by lifting my arms too high. So today while going thru my mails I come across Jillian Michael's site where a client ask about excercise for her flabby arms. Aah!!! this is what I am looking for. An excercise for my flabby arms.would like to share with all those who have the same problems.
Here is what I found.

Q: My arms are a flabby mess. Do you have a simple exercise to tone them up?
A: Absolutely! I've got just the thing. With toned triceps you can wave to your fans all you want (no more upper-arm jiggle!). Get started with tricep kickbacks, a terrific beginner exercise for sculpting the backs of your upper arms:

Tricep Kickbacks

Hold a dumbbell in each hand and stand with your feet hip-width apart with a slight bend to your knees.
Bend over at the waist so that your torso is slightly above parallel with the floor. Bend both elbows so that your upper arms are locked at your sides parallel to the floor.
Keeping your arms still, straighten your arms behind you until the end of the dumbbell is pointing down toward the floor with your palms facing in towards your body.
Hold for a beat and inhale, slowly lowering your arms back to the starting position, and repeat.
To do this properly, remember to keep your abs tight and your back flat.

Measure your arms before starting on this workout and see the difference.
Am going to start working on it today.
Will tell you all if it works. Hope it will.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF DARK CHOCOLATE

I always thought that chocolates are bad for health until I come across this information.
Chocolate is made from plants, which means it contains many of the health benefits of dark vegetables. These benefits are from flavonoids, which act as antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the body from aging caused by free radicals, which can cause damage that leads to heart disease. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants (nearly 8 times the number found in strawberries). Flavonoids also help relax blood pressure through the production of nitric oxide, and balance certain hormones in the body.
Dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and therefore is good for health.
It has protection against heart disease, and not any other chocolate.
Dark chocolate is chocolate without milk. It is also known as plain chocolate or bittersweet dark chocolate. The cocoa content has to be at least 15% to be qualified as dark chocolate.
Eating more dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure -- if you've reached a certain age and have mild high blood pressure. But you have to balance the extra calories by eating less of other things.

Also, many chocolate companies have removed flavenols, the heart-healthy ingredient, due to their bitter taste. They add it sugar. So, the bitter the dark chocolate, the better it is.
In fact, in addition to lowering blood pressure, bitter dark chocolate is a good energy source too because it releases slowly into bloodstream and does not elevate insulin levels.

Next time if you want to spoil yourself after workout and if you want to eat chocolate, do not buy “white chocolate” or “milk chocolate”. Instead, go for dark chocolate in small amount and make sure you balance the extra calories by eating less of other things.

So eat dark chocolates for a better heart.
